I want to participate to the conference: how do I proceed?

You should register to the 3rd International Biennale of Practical Philosophy (I.B.P.Ph.) in the online registration form, which can be found at «Registration».

I have missed the registration deadline. Is there any other way to register to the conference?

You can contact us at lab-prapl-ph@aegean.gr.

What about my registration, if I cannot participate in person?

  • You can withdraw your abstract and registration until March 19, 2024 & you will be informed by personal message about the return process. In this case of withdrawal, we will remove your personal data including the abstract from our system, or
  • You can maintain your registration and in this way ensure your participation in both the online Pre-Biennale and the Book of Abstracts of the Biennale and its Post-Biennale Proceedings.

What are the registration fees?

About registration fees see here

Why are you charging fees?

While the policy of the Laboratory of Research on Practical Philosophy (L.R.P.Ph.) is to provide all educational and publishing activities gratis, a large scale and self-budget event, as International Biennale on Practical Philosophy is, needs to be supported in order to  organizational and event costs, article processing & publishing, website maintenance, IT services and secretarial works are covered.

Can I attend the conference without any payment?

Yes, if you are a student (graduate, post-graduate & doctoral student) at the University of the Aegean and specifically in the School of Humanities (as you can see here).

I have tried to make the payment using my credit/debit card and it was declined. Why?

  • Your attempt to pay with your credit card may not have been processed due to a failure resulting from a technical problem on your card.
  • As a solution, you could try to pay with another card or contact your bank to resolve the issue.
  • If the problem remains, please contact us at: lab-prapl-ph@aegean.gr

What payment methods do you provide?

We provide three payment methods: credit/debit card (any bank card with the labels Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, etc.) and bank transfer. The details about the payment methods are provided to you as an invoice after your registration. Please make sure you check with your bank, for bank transfer fees.

Can you make a waiver or discount of the participation fee?

As the conference is self-budgeted, we are unfortunately not able to provide any sponsorship. Besides, compared to almost all other conferences with similar standards in Europe, our fees are already among the lowest.

I have paid via bank transfer but haven’t received a confirmation within the same day. Why?

International bank transfers usually take several business days. You always can e-mail us an image of the transfer receipt to speed up the verification though.

Can I participate as audience only, without making any presentation?

Yes, you can register choosing the option «Audience registration» to join the conference without presenting a paper.

How does the acceptance procedure to the conference works?

  • Once you submit a proposal, the committee makes an initial review and send a status confirmation to the authors two weeks after submission (as you can see here)
  • This initial acceptance status is provided based on the proposal. If the initial acceptance status is positive, the authors can freely proceed with the registration.
  • The positive answers on behalf of the scientific committee accept the proposals either “as they are” (possibly with comments) or provided they are resubmitted with “minor changes” or “major changes”
