As reform universities, they are collectively committed to cultivate an inclusive, experimental, innovative and socially oriented learning environment. The Alliance view ERUA universities as standing ‘on a critical edge’- both in terms of values and geography due to their expertise in educational strategies and partnering nations. ERUA brings also together students from top and lower socio-economic deciles, from rural and urban, insular and mainland settings, local and global backgrounds that stand ‘on a critical edge’- both in terms of values, geography and social diversity.
This event crosses the research interests of the International Biennale on Practical Philosophy at several points, as the Art & Edges thematic, the insularity, the public dialogue with local communities, the need to invent & support new practices in societies, the rethinking of creativity and innovation, the reimagining of education, the critical understanding of the critical thinking, the uside-down approaches, the interculturality and interdisciplinarity.
